Dreamland Tops

Adrift among the cyber stars

ever trying to ascend that net staircase unto heaven,

gods and goddess with every name,

emails wands of stardust eyes,

immediately locked into heaven,

house and picket fence,

forever hearts are spoken by the inbox,

Romeo and Juliet resurrection to twirl upwards

while mind is drunk beyond believe,

how could love be so intense and dizzy?

Each second becomes its own spinning paradise

perfection is that face you’ve never met,

wedding bells ring in the head as twister of joy,

kids to be like apparitions who appear on wishful nights.

Happy ending retold in whispered tails

by secret cell phone calls,

tomorrow, baby it will be,

the subtle steady groans.

Suddenly facts slip out

her last lover thought he was an alien,

which made sense since they did meet naked in a crop circle,

it was right after she broke up

with Bigfoot, that had been a big mistake,

truly learned her lesson,

will never take romance advice again

from a Jack In The Box menu sign at the fast food restaurant.

Panic streaks through veins after that causal confession,

yet the heart can deny this is a soul mate

surely can’t get any worse.

Two days without contact

worry summons stress and nausea

dominate every second,

then comes the email

so exciting to open it up,

inside a dribble of incoherent along with apology

had to give birth to child,

father was one of a possible twelve

at that cult who worshipped a shrub.

No reply given

tomorrow will begin one attempt to rise,

because in dreamland there is always another

perfect match somewhere

on another climb upon that coiled leap of fantasy.
