Twists Of The Heart

His tongue was a knot,

a mass of choked and garble words,

never could he speak

the depths inside

without it being a string

of mangle messages

barely able to voice an audible syllable

that someone didn’t mock.

Before her patient and compassionate ears,

her heart loving untangled

what his voice could say

in his awkward stammered sayings.

A smile spread over her face

as she took his hand

then gave him a kiss,

it was her yes

unto to his anxious and fearful,

wi-wi-will  yo-yo-you

mar-mar-marry me?
